Join the Beer in Mind Community

Beer in Mind is a project aimed at developing a brewing hub and a university brewery within ULB, supported by a community of students, alumni, and beer enthusiasts.

 Our objectives

  • Offer an alternative to students, alumni, and beer enthusiasts of co-created, local, and committed products.
  • Educate about brewing diversity by introducing the multiple styles of beers, their history, culture, and specific characteristics.
  • Raise awareness of responsible consumption through educational actions and sustainable production choices.
  • Develop projects of study and applied research around sustainability, in collaboration with ULB.
  • Support small and medium breweries in their ecological transition by co-developing concrete, accessible, and replicable solutions.

A brewing hub, spin-off of ULB

which supports the sustainable transition of the brewing sector through three axes:

Research and innovation, the valorisation of co-products, and production.

Why Beer in Mind?

Three axes for a sustainable impact

Research and innovation

Develop solutions to better control processes, reduce consumption, and support breweries in their transition.

Revaluation

Transform brewing by-products into new resources: spent grains, yeasts, hops, CO2, and energy.

Production & living lab

Produce, test, and demonstrate innovations in real conditions, while developing and co-creating with the community of beers, non-alcoholic beverages, and other fermented drinks.

An open community

Students, alumni, researchers, brewers, partners, citizens, and enthusiasts of circular and sustainable projects or fermented or non-fermented beverages: everyone can contribute to Beer in Mind.
