Hello everyone,
We are delighted to introduce Beer in Mind, a project born from the meeting between Stéphane Bruyneel (a former graduate of ULB) and Julien Deleglise (working in the Nuclear Metrology department at ULB) during their microbrewery training at EFP.
Inspired by the desire of ULB and its students to distance themselves from large brewing groups for ethical and sustainable reasons, this project aims to build a collaborative and committed university brewery.
After multiple discussions at various levels within ULB, the Beer in Mind project has evolved and is now part of a sustainable development dynamic, integrating research axes and aiming to support the Belgian brewing sector.
A research and innovation hub around brewing
Our ambition is to create a genuine collaborative research hub around brewing, by investing in study and research projects around sustanability with ULB. By supporting small and medium-sized breweries in their sustainable transition, we aim to contribute to a more ethical and environmentally respectful future.
But this project cannot come to fruition without a strong and committed community. That is why we need you, students, alumni of ULB, and beer enthusiasts, to co-create unique recipes with us, to produce beers that reflect you and that will allow us to fund this project.

1. Join us in the co-creation of our first beers
We are launching today a first large-scale co-creation survey to design beers that reflect you. Share your tastes and preferences: we will analyse your responses and brew the first recipes based on this.
- Respond to the survey (it only takes 2 minutes) : Survey.
And this is just the beginning! We will regularly organise events to meet you, exchange ideas, adjust recipes, and develop our brewery together. You will also have the opportunity to discover our partners, researchers, and microbreweries with whom we collaborate.
2. A first example of successful co-creation
To illustrate this concept of co-creation, we have already developed two recipes through an initial pilot survey. These beers are now available for pre-order for a limited period of 2 weeks.
- Discover these beers here and their story (La Galoche and La Première Sess.
- Pre-order now to support the project.
3. Why pre-order?
By pre-ordering, you are helping us to:
- Launch the programme of beers co-created by and for our community.
- To initiate our first research projects in collaboration with ULB.
